A fully enclosed, furnished entertainment veranda with built-in barbecue, solid oak feature bar with Miele appliances and flat-screen satellite television opens up onto the level lawn area and outdoor fire pit with magnificent beach, ocean, and mountain views. A protected courtyard with comfortable outdoor furniture allows for further natural light into the home. There are 3 over-sized garages and guest parking within the property. Guest Access The entire home is accessible to guests. Interaction with guests We have a Housekeeper/Gardener that comes in daily to work within the home and to assist with your needs. Please Note The home has been carefully designed to protect the entertainment areas from the summer winds so as to enjoy the pool and outdoor lifestyle. Guests are required to check in by no later than 5pm as the Property Manager / Housekeeper leaves at 5pm. The moving around of furniture, furnishings, beds and appliances is strictly prohibited. Smoking is strictly permitted only in the designated outdoor areas where steel cigarette buckets are placed. No cigarette butts are to be thrown onto the lawn, into the garden or into the outdoor fire pit. We insist that our guests strictly comply with our Terms and Conditions and House Rules. Under no circumstances do we tolerate unruly guests and/or bad behaviour, guests that fail to maintain a strict code of cleanliness within our home and guests that abuse our property, its facilities, equipment, appliances, furniture and furnishings. We reserve the right to have our Property Manager and/or Owner inspect our home from time-to-time during our guests stay and in the event that our Property Manager and/or Owner in his/her discretionary opinion feels that our home and its facilities are being abused by guests, we reserve the right to notify our guests to immediately vacate our property without refund or compensation what-so-ever. Our policy of stay remains strict in all respects and no leniency in such regard will be tolerated and/or considered. Prior to check out, guests are required to clean and tidy our home thoroughly and to leave the home in the pristine condition as it was at the time of guest check in, failing which an additional cleaning charge will be claimed for against the guest. Whilst we accept that accidents do occur, we insist that our guests are required to report breakages, damages and/or faults immediately to our Property Manager and/or Owner of Romans Villa. The Great White House

The Great White House (GWH) is a luxurious lodge which was specially build to serve as a one-stop-shop for adventure seeking tourists and marine lovers from all over the world. More about the GREAT WHITE HOUSE guest lodge: The GWH is situated in *Kleinbaai only 200 meters away from the launching site where all boat based shark and -whale tours depart from. What makes the GWH special? Except for wonderful hospitality , The GWH constantly focus on the comfort of their guests both when they're out at sea or back at the lodge. Great White Sharks Every year between 25 to 30 thousand tourist visit Gansbaai or more specifically Dyer Island (only 20 min by boat from Kleinbaai) to encounter the Great White Shark. The reason why so many sharks patrol the waters around the island is because of the 50 000 strong Cape fur seal colony on the nearby Geyser rock, seals are after all the white shark's main food source. Shark viewing can either be done from a boat (because white sharks feed at the service) or the ultimate experience is without a doubt to come eye to eye with these awesome animals by submerging into a steel cage. *Remember - Anybody can do cage diving - you do not need a scuba qualification! Southern Right Whales Every year hundreds of Southern Right Whales visits our coastline to mate and to give birth to their young. The best time to view these gentle giants "in our area" is between July & December (Whale season). During the whale season the qualified marine guides, on our top boat based whale watching vessel (Whale Whisperer), guarantees whale sightings as well an introduction to the area's diverse and rich marine life. De Kelders (5min drive from GWH) is also a very famous spot for land based whale watching because of its unique high cliffs and natural deep bays right next to it. During this period groups of whales often come in to relax and nurse their calves less than 50 meters away from the shore. Franskraal has a long sand-beach crossing the outlet of the Uilkraals-estuary, a known birding hotspot. Just next to the first row of houses of Franksraal is the entrance to a small but old milkwood forest. This "Melkhoutbos Trail" is open to the public. The trail is a circular route of 2km and it takes just about an hour to complete. There is also a historical gem found at the water's edge of Franskraal. It is a small privately owned museum which has the largest collection of relics of the HMT Birkenhead that wrecked off Danger Point. There are also many other historical items. Come and relax in our beautiful home, which is a mere 300 metres walk from the unspoilt Franskraal swimming beach. This is an ideal swimming beach for young (toddlers love the little puddles that form between the rocks) and old as the beach stretches for several kilometres (lovely for long walks or even bicycle rides). Franskraal is only 5kms from Gansbaai which is known as "The Big 2 town". The town is famous for its whale sightings as well as its great white shark diving. FIRST FLOOR The main entrance to Whale Huys is on this floor. The living/dining room space is open plan. The central atrium area has 7 metre ceilings with exposed wooden beams and thatch making it feel both roomy and cozy. There are different seating areas, including around the gas fireplace or facing out. from the entire area one overlooks the ocean. Glass doors over the length of the house and side windows and sliding glass doors provide views of the ocean from three sides. The main balcony extends the width of the house. There is a modern kitchen with a working island featuring a ceramic stove-top a full-size oven and plenty of storage space. Additionally there is a microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, espresso/cappuccino machine, a vertical double refrigerator with ice and water on tap. There is also a double sink and a separate tap for filtered water. The kitchen is further well equipped with kitchen utensils, Next to the kitchen there is a small office area with a laptop for doing emails or web surfing. Also on this floor is one of the main bedrooms with built in cupboards and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and separate toilet. This bedroom also has a private balcony. There is also a guest toilet on this level. GROUND FLOOR The ground floor features a fully equipped wet bar with full-size refrigerator, and an outdoor braai just outside. There is a large indoor seating area across the length of the house that can be used for dining when having a braai. This is the level where the infinity pool is located. Additionally there is an outdoor seating area, an outdoor shower and a laundry room. SECOND FLOOR There are three bedrooms located on this floor each with its own bathroom and balcony. There are two bedrooms to the left of the stairs, while a wooden walking bridge across the atrium area connects to the third bedroom. Two of the bathrooms have showers and one a large bath. This comfortable, neatly built house is situated within easy walking distance from the beach. There are three bedrooms, one en suite. The bathroom shared by the other two bedrooms has a bath, shower and toilet. The lounge/ living room is comfortably furnished, with a TV set, DVD player and VCR . There is an indoor braai area and ample seating for indoor dining and relaxation in the lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with all basic utensils as well as a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. There is a cosy undercover outdoor braai area adjoining a large well-kept lawn, ideal for outdoor games. Gansbaai, famous for its great white shark cage diving. The southern right whales visit these shores between July and December to calve and will entertain the visitor with their antics for hours on end. The village also forms part of the world renowned Kogelberg Biospehere Reserve with its great variety of unique fynbos species. With its long stretches of sandy beaches, Pearly Beach is the ideal destination for families with young children. The area is also a popular angling spot and perfect for hikers and cyclists.

Pearly Beach is a small coastal town approximately 20km from Gansbaai and about 2.5 hours' drive from Cape Town. The beaches of Pearly Beach are legendary with white Sandy beaches extending for miles where one can take long, lazy uninterrupted walks. There are also rock pools and fishermen catching Cob, Galjoen and Steenbras for the evening braai (barbecue). Whales migrate to this coastline from July to January and can easily be seen from the patio or dining area as they are situated merely a few hundred metres from the shore. The Angling and Recreational club offers drinks and meals in a quiet, unsophisticated environment with a large centred fire place and TV. With nearby shops, pub, laundry and coffee shop you don't need to venture far. If you do decide to venture further, Hermanus offers many activities in the area, Gansbaai offers shark cage diving as well as whale watching.
